Air Pump?

I'm new to the hobby and in all the pictures i've looked at I havent seen a tank yet that has an airstone in it. Is there a reason for this? Thanks

We generally try to get surface agitation or movement from the returns from our cannisters or sumps, which in turn adds Oxygen to the water column. Be sure we all have them and use them when necessary.
Many of us use sponge filters, which are run by air, so even if you dont always see streams of bubbles everywhere, they are still present.

I have a small air curtain and an airstone.. my fish love it and spend time dashing through it all day long.. :) :)

The only tank I don't have an airstone in is my planted display tank as it can drive out the CO2 - on that tank I inject CO2 for the plants, and the plants provde oxygen to the point of "pearling" (saturated with O2).

You might be looking at a lot of planted display tanks perhaps?
