I just bought some anubias plants and they are in those small black pots. I want to repot them into bigger pots but what soil should I be using to repot them

I use a mix of 50% vermiculite 50% planted substrate (red sea florabase, dulpa ground, flourite, eco complete etc) and a fertilizer tablet (folurish tabs jbl balls flora dose etc), it gives great root penetration and plenty of nutrients.
i like a pot about 65-100mm tall and 75-100mm wide. you can grow a 2 foot tall sword in such a pot. you will need to repot anually (salavge the old mix and mix it with some fresh stuff same ratio 50/50)

Your Anubias will do much better tied to a piece of DW. If you plant it it will probably rot.

you will get 10x the growth if the roots are in a potting mix, just keep the rhizome above the surface.
