Discus "marking" the food

My golden albino, who I think is a female is guarding all the food in the tank. :shock: She has the food end of the tank to herself fighting off any of the other discus, with the exception of a couple, probably male suitors, but she'll only let them nibble before fighting them off.

Yesterday she was "marking" the food, it looked like she was laying eggs on it (but no eggs there). She doesn't eat it all just guards it!:?

Has anyone had such behaviour in a community tank?
When I get my camera back next week if she is still doing it I'll video it

i got a turk that does the same, doesn't want to eat it, just doesn't want the other fish to have it, i call her "the bitch", I'm sure its a teritorial thing.
