Hi there... As some of you know I have a 120 gallon low tech planted discus tank with semi adult/adult discus(8), 30 Rummeynoses, 2 bns and recently had to move in 1 adult koi angel from another tank. They all get along great.

The other day one of my 2 heaters got stuck and the temp raised from 84.4 to 87.3. when luckily I caught it. I had to replace the Jaeger and started thinking about temps.
I have pool filter sand and about 2/3 of the tank has eco complete under the sand for the swords, cryps, stem plants and anubias. I know the fish are happy at any high temp but was wondering what would be best as I think the plants might be better with a lower temp.... It;s now 83.7.. This is a discus tank with plants not a planted tank with discus... the fish come first.
Just looking for feedback from those of you with established low tech planted discus tanks. What temps do you keep your at?? Thanks for all your help. Sue

28-29C should work well my planted tanks run at 30c but the plant choices are much more limited.

i disagree at keeping discus at 24-25c i think they should be kept at 28c at the lowest.
