Filter Media

ok so what is the best filter media for me to be using ???
i recently purchased a new canister filter and need to buy the filter media. what do i need?

the LFS said peat moss and some ceramic noodles (the smaller the better)

go with sintered glass, best SA available i use JBL micromech, eheim substrate pro and sera spiorax.

all are expensive, but they do great job and last practicly forever.
