Not a Discus

I know this is not a Discus, but there is something wrong with this fish and I don't know what it is. When I came home from work tonight this is how I found him.

I am not sure whether or not he is bloated, but he has not been fed since last night. But if you look at the base of his tail, it is a lot darker than it should be.

Can anyone help please, I don't want him to die as I have had him for nearly 12 months.

Derra, i think that fish is too far gone, I agree it looks bloated, you could try an epson salt bath, but i dont think it will last, sorry.
