water cond. for breeding

hey all.
when it comes to breeding fish what is the most important thing to keep an eye on,as in water parameters.also my fish are cronic egg eaters,will gal.mesh upset water cond.when i try to stop the little buggers from eating there eggs :?: :?:

use nylon gutter guard from bunnings, it wont upset yout water.

for me breeding is most sucessfull with soft acidic water.
