Only come out at Night. (light off)

Well this worms only come out when lights off.

Every morning for the last few days when I switch the tank light back on I notice its alway at the same place. (see pics, will have a better picture later)

It will start swimming all over the place to hide as soon as the light switch back on.

Started worming the discus but haven't seen any dropping yet.

Any idea how I can get them out of the community tank?

(BTW Jothy the plants is growing well ^_^ )

thats some good new growth on thew devils eye, it needs more root ferts, the new leaves are scavenging nutrients from the old (pale leaves and green veins) next time your in the area drop in and I'll give you some clay balls.

as for the worms I've got no idea what they are, they look way too big to planaria.

yeah it cant be Planaria.

I'm going to shut this tank down and start fresh again this weekend if I cant figure out the cause and what they are.

I'm not gonna put my hand in that tank LOL
Freak me OUT every morning seeing them crawling around.

one way to keep them in their place is to keep the light on 24/7. >_<

I know you don't wanna stick your hand in there, but did you try maybe vac-ing them out with a syphon during a water change? It looks like they could fit.

Tried that daily, but I cant find the source.

The tank get vac every second day and never overfeed.

I still don't understand how can this occur and what they are.

I will have some better picture tomorrow morning.

mosquito larvae? i have no idea...those things are way too big for planaria.

If the intention is to strip the tank, you could try to nuke the worms and everything in the tank with a PP treatment, that will get them. Remove the plants first though and wash them off to remove any eggs, or give them a short dip in the PP too.
As said, they look too big for planaria, how do they move? what action?

A 3% Formalin treatment will kill them too, and any other parasites in the tank, won't hurt the plants or other fish, but will set your filters back. One tsp. per 10 gal. You'll have to step up the water changes for a while, and I'd be vacuuming the heck out of that gravel.

I haven't seen it for a while now. (cardinal snacks maybe)

Movements
#1 - swim like a snake and move very fast.

#2 - crawl like the usual worms when on glass.

It hang on to objects very well using the tip (mouth maybe?)

I left the light on for 24 hours several time to see whether it re appear. (Fail)

When the light turn off for the day, wake up in the morning finding them at the same place having a party.
