g'day all - i'm considering dosing my community tank with prazi and was wondering - why do the filters have to be cleaned after treatment, and alos will the treatment affect the bio load in the filters?

once the tapeworms are killed they are expelled from the gut, the dead segments still contain viable cysts, these are picked up by the filter, cleaning the filter removes them from the system, reducing re infection.

some will still be missed so a repeat treatment is needed, but the bulk of them will be removed.
