Hi Im setting up a new tank,
5foot 20x20
Im looking at a Fluval 404 canister.
Or a Otto pf450g
I will be housing 9to10 Discus,
some corys a couple of catfish ect.
Gravel bottom With some drift wood and plants,
The Otto pumps 1800l per min
Fuval 1300l per min
I can get them roughly at the same price...

Do you mean 1800 l/h not mins
i would buy the higher flow rate one 1800,
your tank is close to 400lts so i think >3 cycles per hour is minimum
go for a good brand if you can afford it !!
i hav wasted so much money on buying cheap brand stuff then later regret that why i didnt buy the quality equipment at the first place!!

Chris,
I have a otto 450g running at home.
The fileter is well constructed and hasn't shown any signs of leaking out of any of the fittings that have been supplied. Liek most filters removing the connectors for cleaning of the filter could be made a lot better but i think we are all used to that now.

Depends if you want something reliable or not. If the pump fails will this cause the tank too overflow??
For a good brand pump you cant go past iwaki.
Then there are alot of not so good that might be surfice, its up too you how much you want too spend..
