GH too high?

Hi All,

Is a GH of 8 degrees too high for discus keeping, let alone breeding ?

hi i run almost no gh at all and the discus seem to love it 20ppm is the highest i go. some people might be able to help you better :D

8 is a bit hight but if its not broken dont fix it, adding peat will drop it to about 7, possibly 6.

stable water is much more important then specific values.

Ah, that's a relief since an RO unit is not cheap !

From what I have read peat can be a hit and miss affair so perhaps not just now. My discus also seem to prefer the clearer water.
