I am making a diy filter and need roughly 80-90L worth of filter media.
What is a good filter media that i can use? ceramic noodles, bioballs would be too expensive.

Hi guys
I use nylon pot scourers witch i got from spend a penny (most $2 shops have them) they are multi coloured and about the size of a tennis ball. They are a fine net like stuff rolled in the round shape and come in packs of 9 so for $20 i got enough to fill a good size sump.Hope this is of some help .

if you dont mind hard work you can wash some scoria, if not nylon pot scrubbers.

I have seen drinking straws cut to short lengths (UNDER 1cm) and be used in canisters - I suppose a poor mans noodle. Nylon pot scrubbers work also, seen hair rollers used as well instead of bio balls.
