Hi All,
Just want to show my updates on this tank. If you would like to see what discus I had before please visit the planted section folder.
I removed a few plants to create more swimming space for the fish and removed the original discus cause a few started to pair up and caused a ruckus in the tank.
I replace them with these sub-adult Marbled Blue Diamond.

I am insanely jealous.
I think my next setup will have to look something like yours because I love it - its such an inspirational tank Daniel.

Amazing looking fish. Love the colouring, and of course a school of identical fish always looks fantastic in a planted tank.
You must be delighted with the results.
Awsome :P

Go for it. Set up the tank first without discus. Allow the plants to settle down before adding your discus. Once the plants are rooted nicely, they'll be more tolerant with the temp. I keep the temp at 82F.
Good luck

Hi there,
I think those marbled bds are rubbish, they should have never produced anything as such as it will ruin that trait
Shame they ruin a nice tank
just my 2c worth

Thank you for your opinion. Many domestic discus would not be around now if it wasn't for these enovative breeders.
IMO as long as they have a round shape that's first in my criteria.
I'd like to see what you have created. Maybe you have something much better as a breeder.
Again thank you for your negative opinion.

Aren't BDs an artificially cultivated strain?

They are refered to as marbled because of the markings on the body appearing like a marbled angel. Thank you

I don't know what you mean by articially cultivated. All domestic discus are selectively bred for color and shape. Same as domestic Angels, goldfish and many others.

That tank is absolutely stunning to say the least . How much time does it take to "groom" those plants???
Those discus are very pretty strain an excellent contrast to that green back drop.

nobody should say anything negative about a colour of a discus.
without trials we had only the wilds............
red eddy and names like that get sold in au  whats the difference?
