Hi has any one got any ideas.
Since buying my pair of red alenquers i find they lay very well (upto 200+) at a time and every thing goes well for the first 10 to 15 days
and then they just start dieing over the next couple of days.
I have zero ammonia and my temp is 30c.
My water changes are 100 litres a day which works out about 25% a week
I also run a uv just before the breeding tanks

Any ideas................... Help

If you are changing 100 litres a day and that only works out to be 25% a week how large is the tank these discus are spawning in.

Also you will have to supply more info. Eg PH, nitrate nitrite, is the tank BB or does it have substrate etc, how often are you feeding, what are you feeding etc. The more information you can give, the better.

Cheers

25% water changes over a week indicates a 2800L tank (100L a day x 7 days = 700L, if 700L is 25% of your tank voume, then the tank is 2800L) - that's big.

Much smaller tank for breeding, bigger water changes, watch your Nitrate (definitely no Ammonia, Nitrite), low PH, feed well, bare bottom. Lots of breeders do water changes 90% daily in breeding tanks.
