He looks nice and thick through the body and he looks in great health. Nice pickup!

Also looks like some nice colouring coming through in the dorsal.

I agree. Brilliant finnage and a cracker of a fish! Any luck with any spawning signs?

That's a really good looking male you got, can I ask which LFS in Adelaide you find these gems? I will be flying from Syd tomorrow and would like to visit a few shops - will be staying south of city around Reynella. Ta.

Bayfish (wholesaler) has these and a number of other apisto's on their list.

Most fish shops will get them in for you if you commit to buy them.....
Most shops are also unlikely to purchase them for general sale as they are expensive and don't show their true potential until kept in optimum conditions....they are a hobbyist fish...and aren't generally bought by Joe Average.
I had to get the sales assistant to chase mine out from under driftwood....I looked for them for 5 minutes and then asked if they'd been sold. I only knew they were there because of Steve's (gingerbeers) post! You would never have known they were in the tank other than the name on the glass and they only had the one pair!

in Sydney I'd try Slippery little suckers....Best of Luck!

pm sent!

Yeah they are hard to get from the shops.

Worst thing is you have to be careful what you buy without looking first.
I nearly lost all my fish and lost appistos too because I have to order and ship.

Great pics on this forum.
Will have to show off aggy (think it is a female) to you all.
I think I have a pic of the cacca I lost too.

no spare tanks atm Nam :( and they seem quite happy in that tank and i dont really want to risk taking them out with my luck with apisto's lately. "more due to buying diseased fish i think" i got a stunning double red male cac last weekend, but lost it a few days later "spewin" also got some nijsseni and lost them too and they took out my best male german blue ram with them and a cpl of golds too. i was very dissapointed to say the least.
i desperately need more quarrantine tanks.

I myself purchased 4 A. Trifasictums (German) from my LFS acquired through Bayfish. Even though small they were obviously very attractive fish. However I inadvertently killed the 2 larger fish by feeding them bloodworms. I took the body off for an autopsy and the dianosis was that the barbs of the bloodworms lodged in the walls of the intestine / stomach and killed the fish. I have since switched to blackworms. I will hopefully replace the two fish I lost soon. My 4 german double red cacutouides are all doing fine I am pleased to say.
