Howdy all.

I have made the best move of my life from Sydney up to the beutiful Mid North Coast.

Looking to get back into the hobby but i have a problem. The few small aquariums around here only have pretty much close to bugger all in terms of discus. High quality large fish, and breeding pairs are subjects that make the local store people scratch their heads.......
"Naaaah Mate, nothin like that. We can get angelfish sometimes...."

So I am putting up the discus shaped bat signal.

I think i would like a breeding pair of pretty ( non fry eating) fish. Pretty and great parents being my main preferences.

Colours, Blue Diamond, White Swan or something very yellow/lemony

If not ( and chances not) i'm interested in what ever is out there, that just isn't a 50cent coin sized mongrel!!!!! :o

Will do a few k's If required.

Just discovered this forum and the amount of info is wonderful.

Have a tops Day

Hiya Whale. Welcome to the forum.

Put a WTB in the classifieds forum. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

Getting fish shipped from Sydney may be the way to go.

Welcome aboard Whale. About 600 clicks in either direction should get you amongst some good discus!

stan are g&s doing well with discus these days? havnt been in for over 12 months but prior to that their selection was very lacking in variety and quality for some time.

anyway. in coffs there is quite a big aquarium store which does stock discus. they are only common varieties but i have seen some nice ones in there. your best shot would be to have some quality discus shipped to your local airport.

BUMP!

Hi all.
Tank is cycled and looking for some quality discus. Is there anyone remotely near by???? To stumble on a serious local breeder with plenty to choose from would be a lot easier than heading to brisbane or sydney

Fingers and fins crossed

Dale,

You may just be in luck.

Although not a breeder, the last time I was in Coffs (where I more or less grew up) the pet store just around the corner from Woolies (near the Palms centre) heading toward the fire station had some impressive discus - about 10cm nose to end of tail fin. This would have been early 2007 mind you, so the owners there do know what discus are !!
