It's been a while since I last acquired some new apistos ... here are some pics of my baenschi male which I bought a couple of weeks ago :)

Thanks for sharing your pics - Very nice looking Baenschi Male.
Seems we both recently aquired new apisto's - baenschi, here is a couple of pics of mine :thumb not very clear pics but :oops:

here's one of my last baenschi, been slowly having to move them on and this is second generation and one of the most evasive one's

Those pics are a lot better Flaggy. He doesn't look as sh!tscared as he did in the other ones :lol: :lol:
I've never actually noticed the white fleck patterning in the caudal and dorsal before :? :?
I love Andrews photo of his female. Beautiful brood colouration and clear, dark and complete striping. As far as apisto females go, she's a stunner. :shock: :wink:

i think sunlight has a good effect on colouration
most of my apisto breeding was in a glass room on the house.. damn stupid considering it is england
as you can see the algae in with mum has lots of chlorophyll and i'm sure has lots of nutritious carotene and pigment inducers
also i fed a lot of daphnia and cyclops, also grown in sunlight to try and get more greens into the fish
i wonder whether astaxthin and such would improve it further?
