Hey every one, it's time for me to worm the discus again.

Should you deworm all the occupants of a community tank or just move the discus to a hospital tank, and only deworm them?
I would think that unless you do all the occupants of the tank, those that haven't been wormed will reinfect the discus when you put them back in?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

if you de worm the comunity tank you'll kill all stages of the worms and prevent re-infestation.

none of the wormers are effective against encysted tissue stages of nematode's

hence why the repeat worming in almost any animal is suggested

in a closed enviroment like a fish tank healthy fish shouldnt be getting new worms

wild caught fish studies i have seen suggest between single figures and low teens for wild caught specimens found with a worm population in the gut
the other 80-90% are not avoiding them just clearing the problem themselves
