Hi,
Planning to set up a 250 litre tank (100 x 50 x 50 cm) for 4 discus
what would be the best filteration
would one eheim 2217 be sufficient?
ILLUSN suggested this along with another filter as well....
Any thoughts??

2217 on its own will be ok for a 250L

i have a 2213 running @ the moment
for a 4ftx1.6x1.6...about 250L of water
is it sufficient?
the water is still alittle greenish (though that might be algae since i place the tank in the balcony...)
i have 1 more question,
how could i better shade the tank from light? i have no choice but to place it in my balcony.
pls advice!

try shadecloth over mthe tank, or hook up a uv sterilizer to take care of the green water.
a 2213 is a good filter, i wouldn't use it for a 250L.

mmm 2213 capacity too low for a 250L?
would 2 2213 do the job?
thanks!

2 2213s would be better, what you really want is a 2217

hi illusn,
yeap, what i really need is something with a bigger flowrate.
but anyways, it seems to be working, i just fixed on a Jebo 9W uv in the flow of the canister 2213,
the water cleared up. i'm leaving both on for the rest of the day, hopefully when i return tonight, everything is still fine~
now i have about 20discus...in that meagre 250L tank.
will post some pics once i get home.

1 fish per 40L is proably as dense as you want to stock, good luck with them.
