Nah, not a bit dumb. Lots of people don't know that marlboro red discus are from the pigeon blood line.
I've never crossed a blue diamond with a marlboro red, but I can imagine that the offspring will not be a pleasing colour. You may get some that look a bit like marlboro red fish and some that appear to be a muddy sort of blue diamond. I think most of them will appear a sort of nondescript blue colour.
Sorry, but it isn't a good colour cross.

can't help you with that one. I had a Marlboro X blue diamond pair, but Merrilyn said no, so I scrapped it :lol: :lol: :lol: if it wasn't a pigeon blood I would have still had no clue.
you'll need to ask some of the SE Asian breeders who occasionally hover around the forum or somebody at the Singapore discus forums for a better idea.

if thats all the options you have, i guess let them have a go. Its great fun to watch them with fry and it will be good practice for you.
