Hey Proteus.....Thought I might stretch my legs with the Austrailians for a while. I have always wanted to visit your Barrier Reef with tanks in tow!

welcome nice setup
are you using peat in your water?

Hey Ryan,
I do not add peat.
My water comes out of the tap at 5 ppm and I run it through a drinking water filter into my holding vats which takes it down to 1 ppm. Then I add 1 teaspoon of instant ocean per 30 gallons.
Seems the dicsus enjoy the osmotic pressure.

The water out of Sydney tap is 130ppm. You have very soft water over there

Hey,
I looked at my previous post and made a mistake...I meant my tap was 50 PPM out of the tap LOL.
Sounds like Sydney has similar "liquid rock" to Miami Florida, also in close proximity to ocean.
In Northern Georgia, our water sources are from large reservoirs and lakes.
This is Lake Russel in N. Georgia...a koola place 8)
