Hi Choung,
Just out of curiosity what makes u think they r brachys
they r a lot smaller than some of the other geos out there

Pre-opercular mark, lateral spot size and spotted tail suggests brachy or what I believe are incorrectly labelled as aripuana II (I also believe ari I are incorrectly labelled aswell :shock: :lol: ).
Head shape suggest brachy, which are more pointy compared to the high forehead of the pseudo ari II. From all the pics I have looked at the red horiziontal stripes look like brachy aswell, pseudi ari II seem to have lines which don't merge into each other as much.
I don't think size is a good indicator... fish can stunt. My altifrons female is only about 15cm.
You have only posted pics of one fish... any chance of pics of the rest of the group/male.

Its good to see this searching of info for clarrification atm
atleast we might get some answers to whats actually really here in Aust
Im really not too fussed what they r but still good to get exact location mayb oneday

Looking again at these pics they may be G. sp. "Rio Branco".
Do they get the black throats?
