Hi everyone, I’m looking for opinions on a t-shirt design. We’re still in the preliminary stages but this is what we’ve come up with so far… What do you think? Was considering if a person made a $25 donation or higher they’d get one of these:
The “T” would be white with this on the front about 8” tall

Moderators, if this is in the wrong folder could you please move it or delete it. Thanks, Jonathan

LOL, that is one of them! I'm just not the greatest photographer LOL Actually all three fish are mine, the oscar was 11 when she passed, but I'm going to have to get a better (bigger) picture of another one of my oscars... I've got some gorgeous commons my wife got me for fathers day last year...

I dont want to be rude... but I think there is something not quite right, but I cant quite put my finger on it...
Part of it I think is that the head of the stripey one looks a little bit to much like something else (if you get my drift)
I think it may be the angle...also I think the oscar may be too central.. and the writing too tall for the picture, so your eyes are drawn to the writing more than the fish.
but it has definite potential. I hope you dont mind me being a little critical. (I am no expert by any means so feel free to ignore all comments. lol)
cheers

Thanks for all the feed back guys, I'm more than likely going to make some changes... One change is the minimum donation to get a shirt will be $15 NOT $25. I mean, you can still make a $25 donation I'm not going to argue with that LOL....
I'm going to change the font also, I personally don't care for it but I wanted feed back...
I'm also going to be using a different picture for the oscar, as oscars come in second place for the most common saved... Pacus of course being number one LOL But they're not very "flashy"
Also in my original design the oscar photo was down and to the right a bit, kind of standing on its own... So I think I'm going to go with that...
Thanks again all! I'll be back in a day or so with a new picture :)

Well... We got rained out today so I've edited the text a bit, but haven't gotten the picture options back from the person helping with that... But here's the text..... The oscar is going to be a picture of one of the tiger oscars that was a rescue and has since been adopted... The one still in the picture was my beloved "Oscar", she was 11 when she went onto the great fish bowl in the sky... Thought it'd be cool to honor her by putting her on the shirt but I can't find a clear or big enough picture of her...
Here's the new text:

Prefer the writing in a straight line. :-) Good font though
Still think the stripey fish looks abit rude... lol Maybe its just me and my gutter mind. :-)

I think it needs an oval or round border around the actual fish & the font size of the writting to be a bit smaller & maybe see what it looks like with the text wrapped around the top or bottom of the border. It looks like it could do with a couple of smaller fish to fill in a little of the white areas in between the fish.
"Sorry" MonsterFishRescue But you did ask !!!
(eveybody's opinions will vary)

I've got a question for you all... If we decided to go with a species specific shirt for the first edition, what would you like to see on it? I'm posting this on all the boards to see what people would like to see on the first shirt. So bring it on!
Thanks,
Jonathan, (aka TheFishGuy) :)

If you're going species specific, then my suggestion is the red tail catfish.
How many novices can pass up that cute little black and white fish with the red tail when they see them at 5 or 6 inches in a tank. They are cute and appealing, and such striking colours.
Pretty hard to resist, but they should come with a warning that this cute little fish will grow to 4 feet long within 2 years.

I'd suggest the RTC as well. three fish looks a bit busy. Helvetica is one of the most common and easily readable fonts around.

Ok, a final decision has been made as to what exactly will be on the first edition shirt. I'll be going to the print shop today to get a protype made. I should have the actual shirt in my hands by the end of the week! If I'm happy with it you guys will be the first to know!
Here it is:

Hi everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the people who have showed their support by purchasing a Monster Fish Rescue T-Shirt. The shirts are definitely conversation starters at your local fish shop, swap meet or auction. Thanks for helping educate other hobbyists about large fish and their proper care! That’s what MFR is all about!
I’d also like to thank “bell” from the cichlid-forum.com for nominating me for Animal Planets “Hero of the Year Award” You’re a class act bell, thank you!
For more information on the Hero of the Year Award click on the link:
http://animal.discovery.com/convergence/hero_of_the_year/hero.html
Since I’m posting I wanted to let people know that I’ve taken your feedback about the shirts and have come up with another option for those who choose not to advertise how much of a fish geek they really are LOL Monster Fish Rescue now has ball caps available!
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/jstraz/shirts/005.jpg
You can get them in an array of colors, and if you’d like (upon request) you can even get yourself a Trucker hat in any of the colors available.
Please keep in mind that I don’t keep shirts and hats in stock, they’re made to order and can take up to four weeks to get them to your door step. Personally I think it’s worth the wait!
Don’t forget to check the site for fish that are up for adoption!
Thanks again! Jonathan (aka TheFishGuy)

Ok, We’re going to try something new… I’ve got three shirts up for auction on eBay. MFR needs donations desperately. The utilities are getting a bit out of hand! Please bid on one of the shirts, or take a look at the site and order yourself a hat or shirt, or make a cash donation. MFR could be on the verge of going under if something doesn’t happen soon. The shirts are doing a good job at getting the name out but do not generate very much $$, and Money is what MFR needs. If you don’t donate because you feel someone else has…. They haven’t. So do your part to make a difference!
Thank you to those that have donated, and thank you in advance to those that are about to donate. Keep in mind there’s no minimum to donate. So if you’ve got an extra $1 please help in our fight to educate the new hobbyist and to re-habilitate and re home large fish.

Thank You!

Well when I think of monster fish a saratoga (arowana) comes to mind. Why don't you make a tee with them on as well? I like the ones you have done already, great design. :D

There's a list a mile and ahlf long of fish that will be going on shirts, but it's very difficult to get a picture of a fish that's shirt quality... It's got to be a side view un ubstructed by decor or other fish, and it's got to be a perfect as possible LOL
Did you bid on a shirt?? :)

Hi folks, MFR is in need of a 20x15 pond liner. I found one on eBay for $100 or so including shipping. So I thought Id come on all the sites and see if people are willing to donate to reach the goal of $100. Im expecting some large fish shortly and need the room! I belong to 26 forums, so if I only got $4 from one person on every forum wed make the goal! Heres the link to the pond liner Id like to get:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=012 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220245334999&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012)
Or if someone has pond liner to donate thatd be great! Thanks again to all the MFR supporters! You guys are great!
Jonathan
