Hi anyone know how the golden gene is inhertited?

I have done golden x golden = all golden and also golden x alenquer = 50% golden.

Looks like one one recessive allele is required to produce a golden fish.

I also think that my group consists of both heterozygous and homozygous recessive for the mutant gene i.e. If both parents in the golden x golden cross were heterozygous then I would have gotten some brown offspring.

Anyone know for sure?

I'm pretty sure now that the golden gene is recessive and behaves like the albino gene.

It appears that my alenquer may in fact be a golden gene carrier. It was from the same source as the goldens. :D

thats what the book Trophy discus says, so you're probably right.
