Organising bare bottom tank remains

What is the best way to get all the remains (uneaten food and poo) on the floor of a bare bottom tank to one side of the tank. I find at the moment I am removing alot of water when vacuuming my 5ft tank.

I've read that if you setup a small PH had one end of the tank at the bottom - perhaps with a spraybar or something attached - when this is on it will push all the gunk to the opposite end of the tank.

May not want to run it continually tho depending on how you feed your fish, maybe for a little while before cleaning time.
