WTB :- Dwarf Cichlid Pairs

Hi Guys,

After recently selling my gold severum pair in my 4x2x2 i have decided to go the planted way for awhile.

I am after some unique breeding pairs of dwarf cichlid.
I am fairly open to suggestions.

The plan is for a school of tetra's in the top half of the tank and 2 different pairs of dwarf cichlids for the bottom.

Can pickup, i am situated in lane cove but have friends that work out at plumpton so i pretty easy as to where to be picked up from.

Hey buddy,

From shop wise, there are some orange/red aggie and blue form aggie, borelli prarguay, beanschi, mouthbrooder (all male), norberti (all female), borelli reizigi (all male) and mienkeni at a LFS in Bondi Jn.

I have agassizi Tefe available right now, and the F1 macmasteri shall be coming along shortly. Followed by hongsloi (expecting around Christmas or early next year) and small number of baenschi (due to shortage of male) around end of 1st quarter next year (and hopefully some borelli prarguay soon after if all go according to plan).

Also still have apistogrammoides pucallpaensis - they've taken forever to grow out so I really can't say when they'll be ready (have been telling others they're ready early this year but still not quite).

Interesting link - wish we can get more varieties but what we got now is much better than 5 years ago.

The LFS only price them per fish. And you can pick (ask the fellow at LFS) which one you wanted. However it is based on my own experience that certain species have either male or female left in the tank (or the LFS was shipped with a single gender batch).

There was a thread about a year ago that had the RVA(?) gallery link which is a good look. I'll see if I can find it.
We don't get the same quality or variety of those sites but as Th0mas said, it's a lot better now than it used to be. What kind of fish you want will ultimately depend on how much you are willing to shell out. Same with discus I guess

Is this a true representation of what a male Baenschi looks like? As on other sites the male looks nothing like this?

That would be a perfect specimen- display against another male or a mirror reflection of himself.

The body form will vary slightly, eg. dorsal extension doesn't go as far, body slightly longer (also due to the age of the fish), condition of the surrounding, etc.

It will be close - but never the same.
