I want to move some discus to another tank but want to know whether they will be ok with my other fish's temperature requirements. What's the lowest temperature to keep young discus at?
Thanks.

its better to keep growing discus at higher temperatures. adults can do okay at around 82, lower than that, they go a bit sluggish and eat less.

Thats around 27.7 degrees celcius. Will younger discus be ok at that temperature? Or say 28.5, something like that.
Thanks.

30 is a good temperature for growing discus , some people go even higher.

Ok. That's what I have them at at the moment. The reason I ask is because the couple of discus I bought at an auction, are not getting along and this seems like my only alternative. Other than sell them or get more, what can I do?

The other fish in the other tank are a pair of angelfish and some asssorted tetras and corydoras. They are the only fish in their tank at the present time.

Ive kept all those fish at the same temp as my discus at 30 degrees
yes you may lose fish too, your tetras depending upon what type may die off quicker.
in my opinoin do it slowly and gradually. 29 is fine too
what have others experienced?

Because of the heat here my tanks are up around 28 degrees and none of my other fish seem bothered by the temp at this point in time.

I am with Nic on this one, I have kept all those fish at 29 except corys.(but I am intending on keeping corys soon in that tank)

He's in with my other fish. He's a bit dark but eating enthusiastically. I'll keep an eye on him, the water quality and water temperature.
