Hi

I just wanted to see if ppl here use combantrin, active ingredient mebendazole, for deworming discus and how they use it? I've searched through the forum here, found a few posts where it was vaguely mentioned, from what i read it seems to be used as a bath.
the breeder where i initially bought my first discus from would make mix it with food, similar to metro and feed it to fish.
Is anyone else doing this?

menbendazo can be dosed as a 1 mg/litre bath for 24 hrs , mainly listed for treatment of monogenean flukes

because of the family of drugs it is from it (logically!) should have effect against nematodes, i unfortunately can not give you a dose for in food usage

extrapolating from the closely related fenbendazol where oral dosage is 50 and bath treatment 2 you may need 25mgs/kg orally in feed, fed fro 2 days and repeated again in 2 weeks

i have neever used the product , and dont now whether it is safe orally
