Cycle and UV

G'day.
Should I wait until tank is fully cycled before adding UV sterilizer? I thought it might kill benificial bacteria and slow the cycle down. I plan to run a new cannister for at least six weeks with decaying prawn in tank. Before I add fix I make 100% water change to get all the prawn mulp out. I will then add a canister from an established tank as well.
What are your thoughts on this?
