Aqua Clear problem.

Hi. I am setting up an aqua clear 20 (mini) for a small tank and I'm having a couple of slight problems. It's very noisey, is there anyway to reduce the noise? Also is carbon safe to use with discus?

sounds like there is something wrong with the impellar , how old is it, if its not that old is it still under warranty, there shouldnt be any noisy, form what ive read you can only keep carbon in there for two weeks
