killer discus

I have a 50 gallon discus tank with 2- 5", 2- 4", 3- 3", and 4(now 3) indian flasher barbs. Last night two of my discus cornered and killed one of the barbs. He was perfectly healthy so I wonder why.

Discus can get agro and kill other fish, I've once seen them kill (and then eat) small tiger barbs

Their diet is a predominately meaty one. Wild caught fish will also eat cardinals, glowlights, anything small enough really. and they do hunt in packs. This behaviour seems to lessen in captive bred fish
