barbatus is a cool water species - may need extra attention during the hotter months.

The rest looks rather rare - where have they landed?

barbatus hate it when the water gets too hot they like i best around 18-20deg , i kept mine alive for ages till summer hit then the females were the first to go followed by the male a few months later, but not from heat he jumped out of the tank

my gossei are in the tank with the hypanacitrsu and they are doing ok there temp is 32 lol im a bad parnet i know but they seem to be doing ok

Yup I think I'll wait for that. :D or maybe I'll go for cardinals though I have a strong feeling the heckels will try to eat them.

I am a big fan of the pygmy type cory's. A school of 30 or more hastatus looks stunning! almost like tetra's!

Yeah - I second that. Had a big school before - but the hastatus aren't as robust and my tank's pH drop wiped them out.

can any of these handle 5 or sub 5 ph ??? duplicareus seems to be found in the same vicinity as heckels. I read that the adolfi can handle ph as low as 3.5.
will the heckels try and eat the small corys ??? I gave them, my only surviving cardinal and they hunted it down like a pack of dogs.

Pretty certain the hastatus cannot handle such. I droopped the pH down to below 6 and their number also starts to drop as well.

adolfoi can handle pH sub 4 (have surviving proof), metae will start to have problem once it reaches below 5, and the loretoensis don't like pH 5.5 or below (from past experience).

Heckli will eat your small corries so watch out ( i learnt that the hard way)

scrapped the altum / cory / dwarf cichild ideas :roll: will go with what I originally had in mind, mouthbrooding anabantids.
