I have been recently introduced to RO water due to the increasing levels of nitrates present in my tap water. Upon talking to my local fish stockest I was suggested to use RO water plus minerals.

Since the beginning I have used these minerals with my RO water changes.

I currently use this

http://tmc-ltd.co.uk/images/pro-discus.jpg Tropic Marin pro - discus minerals http://tmc-ltd.co.uk/aquarium/tropic-additives.asp

I have been told that this will alter my pH and other factors. I have a question regarding this item.

Would it act as a pH buffer if i was to use C02 injection?

My stockest is slighly vague upon answering this question for me, and the manufacuter doesnt answer my emails =(

Thanks

I would use Kents RO right. You should be able to get it at a good price compared to use 'downunder'.

Using Co2 will lower PH, moniter your KH value.

I plan on using C02 24/7 as I am slightly concerned about the pressure build up in the (plastic) container of the kit I have purchased. This simple kit (even though its robust http://www.justbuyonline.co.uk/nutrafin-natural-plant-system-o-443.html ) was purchased as a starter test.

Im currently at a level where I do not test for hardness (which is a question I will be asking soon, so details grateful) as I am keeping the RO dosed consistent which I assume will keep the pH steady, and thus slightly clamp the hardness within a area?

I realise that this post is quite big and no one like to read large posts, but I dont want to keep yapping for attention ;)
