What sort of snails are they Alan.

Mystery snails, or as they are sometimes known Apple snails, are pretty good with plants.

It's the smaller cone shaped pond snails that you have to watch.

sounds like pond snails, PAIN IN THE A**!, red ramshorns dont eat plants and i use them as cleaners in a few tanks, pondsnails no good for anything except feeding hungry loaches

thankx for the replies

so i took out most of the snails some are in hard to reach places ill get them as soon as they are in reach
no more baby snails though i guess the loach is taking care of that
im assuming the snails were eating my plants thats why my leaves on my amazon were looking shabby then fading away (so to speak)
but my crypts and anubias are looking fantastic
is it cause those snails like amazons :?:
or is it something else destroying it :?:

 sorry for all the questions
i just want the perfect boitope and ther is always somthing in the way
i guess its what makes it challenging and fun kinda
i only have discus
tetras
rams
kribensis
zebra loach
cory cats
dwarf pencil fish
water is great temp is 84 wc every other day ph 6.5
so i dont think i have any fish eating away at the plants
can i put mystery snail in there without worry of eating my plants so they can eat the algea and left overs :?:
i think keeping amazons are harder to keep than discus :?
please help i know there is guru out there somewere :D

snails will destroy swords, they dont seem to like the emersed leaves much but they will obliterate the softer submerse leaves.

amazons are one of the toughest swords there are, i had one doing great tied to drift wood, just remember they are heavy root feeders so fertilize them every 3-6 months with a couple of florish tabs clay balls etc.
