Bettas went well with discus untill i got a nice male blue turk who thought my bettas finns looked like worms, needless to say i soon had a very tatty looking betta, also in my discus tanks they never seemed to live more than 2 or 3 years, i think due to the higher temps.

I've had no problems with my Betta and 9 Discus. I think if the Discus start out young and you introduce a Betta early they will grow up together and they won't see him as 'food'. However I can see how an adult Discus suddenly introduced to a Betta might have other plans.

Ive kepted adult bettas with discus before - not an issue at all.
Discus love eating juvenile bettas but in all my experiences they left the bettas to themselves.
i even kept a large betta with an arrowana once, same deal no probs!
