why are my discus always darting at each other?

hi racefiend welcome to the forum.
there could be a number of reasons for your prob it could just be fighting between two male,or females,you need to tell us a bit more for us to be able t help.How many fish do you have? ,
how big are they?
Are they biting each other on the lip?
so it you tell us a bit more there will be someone here that will be more then happy to help good luck

hi Scott thanks for the help.
I have a 50 gallon tank with 7 discus.The biggest is 5", next is 2 at 4", then 4 of them at 2.5".
Yes,the two 4" bite on the lips but the others don't usually don't go as far as biting just chasing. Sometimes facing off like big horn sheep.

hehe they are just trying to sort out how the boss is .there realy isnt to much you can do but let them go and sort it out,if it gets to bad you may have to move one of them .but i think they will be fine . scott

a few things you can do!
buy more discus!! :) and or change the combination in that tank :!:

sorry I will clarify.
chang the combination as in swap fish from another tank,, change the tank pecking order ..
sometimes its only one aggressive fish that upsets the balance for all.

yeah thats what I was afraid of.The tank there in is the only one that i can put discus in and the boss is my favorite one.He is an amazing melon.
