Hi,
I got this fish last night. Had a look at its condition this morning and this is what I saw. Looks like some of his fins burnt and seems to have discolour around this mouth and head. Please help.

That fish is showing all the signs of pH shock.

Check again with the seller what his pH is.

To me it looks like his pH is around 7 and your pH is around 6. That's a huge drop and can possibly cause the death of a fish.

Do you have any Sodium Bi Carbonate in the house? If not,y you can find some in the cooking section of the supermarket. Slowly add 1 level teaspoon each hour till you bring the pH up to 7 and you should see an improvement in the fish. Depending on the size of the tank, this could take 24 to 48 hours.

How big is the tank, and how often do you normally do water changes.

Merrilyn, i got to admire your knowledge. You have a cure for everything.
I hope this forum's member discus will make it.
