Hi,

I'm hoping you guys able to help me. I've got a PB who is about 6 - 8 mths old.
its getting skinier lately, still show interest in food and show no sign of stress.
On that conditions, it seem that he (assuming as he seem to follow the female turk all the time) still rule the tank. still harassing my other discus that are bigger than him.

Is there anything wrong with him? what do I need to do?

Thanks
Hendry

I'd definately like to see some more weight on him than that.

Is the fish eating. Have you actually seen him eat, and are his droppings normal?

At this stage, I'm thinking worms or intestinal parasites. I'd like to see you worm the fish with Levamisole (check the sticky posts for information) and then follow up with a course of metro.

You need to get onto it now, before the fish loses any more condition. If they go down too far, they are terribly hard to bring back.

Thanks Merrilyn for the advice.
He is still eating. frozen blood worm, beef heart, mysis, live black worm. spit out tetrabits though.
The amount he ate, doesn't justify the way he looks now.

I'm getting levamisole to treat the whole tank as I've never done it.
With the metro, do i apply in whole tank or just him?

I'd do whole tank just to be safe, just watch out if you have scaless fish (bristlenoses, loaches etc), if your feeding black worm he wont touch tetra bits, mine never did till i stopped with the blackworms altogether.

Your catties and loaches should be okay with levamisole. I have used it on my tank which has both clown Loaches and bristlenose and gibbiceps. Just use the recommended dose and it should be fine.

Still haven't got the Big L delivered yet. I finally saw his dropping. Its brownish & red-ish. Been force feeding tetrabits lately. Is that a good sign?
