I am going to make some tanks for my shed and i am wondering what will be the best size for 1:breeding tanks
2:grow out tanks
Also is it true that you are better off haveing the tanks for breeding high of the ground.

hi cliff mate i dont think it matters to much. i have breeding tanks that are 2ftx20"x20" but even that is a bit big i find next time i think i will get 2ft x18"x18" .But some go a bit smaller thats just what i use as for grow out tanks i use 3ft and 4ft tanks just standed some others may have some thing diffrent .so i guess its just up to you and the room you have good luck with it mate

yeah cliff i think that would be ok. you can go 12" high too. if you have andrew soh s book i think he has some sizes in there ,that he uses but i think that the 18x18 will be cool, oh and i have my breeders on the top run as well . but i i dont know if it makes a diffrents but i just like to work up on the breeders and not bending down to them hehe

i cliff i used to have most of my 40+ breeding pairs in 400x400x400 cube tanks and the less water the better for the pairs as babies dont get lost as easy and 400x400x400 mm cubes worked for me and the pairs were happy as well and would get 80%+ of wrigglers onto pairs at free swimming stage in these compared to $60-70%in other sized breeding tanks.
keep up good work mate.
