General hardness and carbonate hardness

Hello,
Just wanted to get some members advice on what is the optimum general hardness and carbonate hardness levels for an aquarium.
At the moment general hardness is 75ppm and carbonate hardness is 50ppm.

You should get Discus fry coming out of your ears with numbers like that. Some would like it even lower on both counts but if your numbers are straight out of the tap I would be leaving things well alone.
