how much substrate?

hiya

I'm preparing for a re-do of a tank 5 by 2 by 2.5 (h*w*d) (130-140gallon). The plan is for it to be heavily planted and reasonably lightly stocked with fish. I'm going with eco-complete for the substrate, and i'm wondering how much to use.

i've seen adverts saying the best is 1kg per gallon which will work out at well over 250lbs, which is 12 or 13 20lb bags... is this right? it sounds a helluva lot, any thoughts?
