A pair of my araguaia have finally laid eggs on a piece of driftwood :D Have been waiting so long for the fish to be mature enough to breed, although fish are still not that large. Heres a pic and video (neither do parents justice), i'll keep you updated on their progress.
Mum hovering over the eggs.

I WAS WRONG :D:D:D
There is about 100 fry swimming in and out of a terracotta pot! It turns out the parents had moved the eggs behind the pot and I couldnt see them so I presume they had been eaten :P YAY! More pics soon. The female in pic is roughly 10cm, male a few cm larger.

Had to move the male out today, he was beating up the female. So I thought best move him so I don't loose her. Babies are all going well, mum has a full on job trying to keep them all near though :P

Hey, does anyone know when the babies are indipendant enough to take them away from the mum. The male started beating up female so I have the female and bubs in their own tank.
When can the mum be taken out of the tank and just leave the babies by themselves?

She can be taken out any time Bundy, but it's so cute to see mum with the babies, I'd leave them for a while.
Are they feeding well?

What a great shot! Do you have any pics of the parents? I mean full pics? Reason being that I'm trying to distinguish between the araguiaia and the tapajos we have. Many thanks.
