looks like a snake skin to me,maybe his grandparents are BD or something in this direction.

Hi Sandy,

Yes, I agree - I think it's the same breed.

I bought this one around 9 months ago as a juvie and it has grown so much. It started out with a very pale color and a much more distinct stripe - which is almost gone now. The area between the mouth and eyes turned bright orange as it grew older.

definitely not snakeskin as there is no visible pattern on the gill plate ...more like cobalt?

That last picture, the discus that was on the top, what type is that (I'm not sure of the different names yet, i'm still beginning with my discus)
