Hi there everyone,

Just want to let everyone know that I am a possible housemate for BB07, and would love everyone's support as I go up to the Gold Coast into lockdown on 8th May.

Scott will keep everyone updated... But keep an eye out for me and vote if necessary Please....

Want to leave you with this special thought that I got on my email today.

Thanks Deborah

THE CAB RIDE

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. When I arrived at
2:30 a.m., the building was dark except for a single light in
a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many
drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, and then
drive away.

But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis
as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled
of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be
someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself.

So I walked to the door and knocked. "Just a minute", answered a
frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across
the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her
80's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox
hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked
as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was
covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on
the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos
and glassware.

"Would you carry my bag out to the car?" she said. I took
the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.
She kept thanking me for my kindness. "It's nothing", I told her.
"I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother
treated". "Oh, you're such a good boy", she said.
When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, and then asked,
"Could you drive through downtown?"
"It's not the shortest way," I answered quickly.
"Oh, I don't mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to
a hospice".

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. "I
don't have any family left," she continued. "The doctor says I
don't have very long." I quietly reached over and shut off the
meter.

"What route would you like me to take?" I asked.
For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me
the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.
We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband
had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of
a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she
had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building
or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.
As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she
suddenly said, "I'm tired. Let's go now"

We drove in silence to the address she had given me.It was a low
building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that
passed under a portico.
Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They
were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must
have been expecting her.
I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The
woman was already seated in a wheelchair.
"How much do I owe you?" she asked, reaching into her purse.
"Nothing," I said
"You have to make a living," she answered. "There are other
passengers," I responded. Almost without thinking, I bent and gave
her a hug. She held onto me tightly.
"You gave an old woman a little moment of joy," she said.
"Thank you."
I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.
Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life
I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly
lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly
talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who
was impatient to end his shift?

What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once,
then driven away?

On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything
more important in my life.

We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around
great moments.

But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped
in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT 'YOU DID,
OR WHAT YOU SAID, BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER
HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

Yeah, you need some company while she is gone!

At least she will know you have been a good boy, staying home, rather than going out and having a good time with your mates. Nobody will be able to accuse you of having an affair, because it will be impossible since you have no time!

If you need help to "hide the evidence" before she comes back, give us a yell

BB's secret: There's no cash!!

CONTESTANTS diving into the Big Brother fishbowl in hope of landing the million-dollar prize pool will be hit with a rude slap - and it's worse than a turkey.

As the Channel 10 reality TV juggernaut prepares to launch its seventh season on Sunday night, the program's producers yesterday announced that, for the first time, there will not be a cash prize for this year's winner.

In addition to throwing away the cash, there will not be any cars given to the housemates on their exit from the compound at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

"We are launching series seven with no prize money for the winner," executive producer Tim Toni said yesterday.

"It's simply to keep ahead of the game with the housemates."

The selected contestants for the program flew to the Gold Coast yesterday and are now in lockdown, unaware of the tightened rules - and wallets - of the well-played reality game.

Stripping the inmates of their inflated cash cow - the exact reason why many bother persevering through all those stifling weeks in the house - is not the only measure producers are taking to revive viewer interest and amp up the ratings of the fairly tired formula.

In another "Australian first", viewers will be able to choose two additional housemates from a secondary group who will assemble next to the selected contestants during Sunday's season premiere.

"It will enable viewers to control the game - it will be the biggest number of housemates ever assembled on stage," the spokesman said.

Host Gretel Killeen must be shaking with excitement. :)

BB's secret: There's no cash!!

"We are launching series seven with no prize money for the winner," executive producer Tim Toni said yesterday.

. :)

The key word there is 'launching" ..... the prizemoney will be there as usual by the end.
The only thing I don't get about people watching big brother is how MANIPULATED the viewers are by this programs producers (who are no better in my opinions then any other SMS dating scam artists)
They tell everyone about how its the viewers in control but the reality is in fact its the producers controlling everything.
The fact is the only really successful BB was series 1 ....why?
Well lets see ....
No Cold Showers ...the hot water was always on
No demeaning tasks ...the contestants were treated with respect not like sheep in a pen.
Plenty of Booze ....to keep people partying.

The fact is people want to see the housemates acting up and having fun not being demeaned and abused and the producers have lost the plot.

Now, as you won't be able to post any jokes here, you'll have tell them to the housemates. We'll be listening!!

Hey there guys,

Thanks for all of your support and anger etc...

I was crushed totally yesterday afternoon, after being at Dreamworld for the whole day and babysat (even not allowed to attend the bathroom alone) The producers were so scared of us figuring out the truth prior to the show, they split us into groups and made us spend hours locked in different sections of Dreamworld so we didnt bump into anyone else.

We got back to the hotel ate our LAST meal at 4pm, and then were locked in our rooms till 5pm, and after the show, one of the final 7 told us that he was a model and hired last Friday, he was told that they needed him as there were no suitable people on the Starburst winners, and he told us him and the other chosen 6 that were hidden all day getting hair, makeup and one even getting the colour of her hair dyed to brown were hired for the weekend with only one of THEM getting a chance to enter the house.

The show is staged and I am totally disappointed that they didnt want an entertaining NORMAL person respresenting NORMAL everyday people from this world, instead the only people they represent is Bratz dolls... Even if it wasn't me, there were so many people that I would have really loved to have seen go in from our group, and if nothing else, I made some great friends up there.

I am a winner in my house and that is what is important to me, I have everything and everyone I need and want and I am happy, what else can anyone ask for..

Thanks everyone for your good wishes, was good to know that you were all there for me... MWAH Deb x
