well this is one of my projects coming together slowly... i got the cabinet about 2 months ago and stained it my self and to tell you truth it looks grate .. i am getting the tank this weekend.. so it will not be long before i have some nice new discus in it.... its a 5ft by 2ft by 2ft

man that is nice itz hard to find such good quality stands these days. how much was the staining process. and where did u get the stand from originally

thats the finish I have put on my 6x2x2 (900 high)
had a 5x2x2 (900 high) delivered yesterday with twin access hood...

Then I have a 4x2x2 (900 high) to stain...

Now you need to add some kool door knobs
(here is a sample of the stain I used - Golden oak gloss I think)

BTW are they Anubius? Anubius do better on logs rather then buried in the substrate. Their roots actually need light to grow well.

Jonesey.... are some of those plants in the gravel Anubias? Errrm, u do know that Anubias don't grow well in gravel don't you? :wink: Get them out of the gravel before you get root rot.

Get yourself some driftwood (preferably without sharp points) and some cotton and plant weights.
Weigh the Anubius down with the weights just enough so it doesn't float. I generally put the weights just above where the roots start. Then spay the roots over the driftwood and wrap the cotton over the wood and roots.
After a few weeks you should see green root growth and the roots should be holding onto the wood. You can remove the cotton now. A few weeks later when the plant has a firm grip on the wood, you can remove the plant weights too.
