Hey guys,

I was just reminded how easily discus get spooked.
I'll just set the scene here.
I have 2 tanks, Planted on top and malawi on bottom.
I switched my planted tank lights off which have discus in.
about 20 mins later I remembered i hadn't fed my malawis yet so when i walked towards the aquarium and adjusted the bottom tanks glass lid a little i hear a bolt in the top aquarium.

Switched on the light for the discus tank and this is what i saw :(

Sooooo annoyed with myself such a beautiful fish ruined in a second!

Now just hoping it'll heal quickly and without infection!

Gonna see how badly it really was tomorow and let it rest tonight.

ouch what a mess...

i use a night light for my fish room and I usually never re enter or actually turn the lights back on untill the morning.

When i do turn the lights back on I usually wait about 5 minutes before i go back into the room to avoid what happened to you.

id use a quarantine tank and nurse this guy back to some sort of health. Infection and subsequent ilnnesses are possible from this type of battering

put a post in the emergency section :)

good luck

ok not as bad as I first thought!

Id look at using a product that will assist in preventing fungas infection, encourage slime coat reproduction and somthing that will ease the stress a tad.

melafix or somthing like that ..
