Ok.... CO2 installed a week ago... showing too much C02 in tank at the moment so still fiddling..

I am just wondering if all plants pearl and if so when should I expect to see some activity.

Plant stock list:
Indo Fern
Java Moss
Small broad amazon sword
Wisteria
Anubias (I think one is nano?, two others with larger leaves)
Blue Stricta

Lights:
T5 2 x 39 watt (2pm to 11pm) - blinds closed so only small amount of filtered sunlight for rest of day

Ferts:
Seachem Flourish
Seachem Flourish Excel

Substrate:
Small gravel
Some plants in terracotta pots with layer of Flora Root in gravel

Thanks

all your plants should pearl, if not you shjould see streams of VERY tiny bubbles comming from the undersides of leaves, bout 2-4 hrs after lights come on.

Provided everthing is right, they should be pearling.

If ever you cut back a plant or trim a leaf, you sometimes see a steady stream of bubbles coming out of those points. It's amazin to watch!

Here's a pic of my java fern that would start pearling about 30 minutes after the lights come on.

My java ferns definitely don't look like that! I thought I saw one or two bubbles the other night but maybe it was just trapped from the air stone or something (although they are about a foot and a half apart)...

I will do some tests today and post results in case that can affect pearling..

disappointed with my co2 investment at the moment... patience perhaps...

You cant expect instant miracles from C02, but I gaurantee you, once you have the settings correct growth will be unlike anything you have seen prior to having C02.

Just look at my test tank set up (sticky post) using the same system, the growth was slow and steady at first then it took off like a rocket. At one stage I was cutting plants back weekly and just throwing them in my Giant Gourami tank for him to eat them - and that included plants such as red lotus as they were shooting up everywhere.

Proteus is right, give it a chance, I nolonger grow wysteria or blue strictica because they grow too fast with CO2 here's photo of my old tank using yeast CO2 since redone with less cheap plants and real co2

Ok ok... I'll be patient :)

I bought a new discus today so at least that is making me happy for the time being!
