Remember, aside from listing your For Sale items in the classifieds, also list them on AquaAuctions.com (http://www.aquaauctions.com) as well.
You will get more exposure and perhaps pick yourself up a bargain as well.
And yes, it is FREE!
Given that sites such as AquaBid are primarily set up for U.S. residents, lets make AquaAuctions.com (http://www.aquaauctions.com) our Aussie alternative.
Over the coming weeks several of the sponsors here have agreed to list some Super Red Hot Specials which will only be found on AquaAuctions.com.

Xtreme have listed a bunch of African cichlids at prices you wont find anywhere else. Most of them have no reserve price either. So they have to be sold.

why not add it as a new topic area, above classifieds, that links to the site, and gets highlighted every time a new auction is posted or a bid placed ?

Given the amount of coding it would require to make something like that work, plus the fact this site is due to undergo a major upgrade soon it isnt really an option at this stage although we will look at implenting something down the track.
I think once there are a few hundred items for sale or on auction over there, it will just be part of the normal website crawl people do anyway.

We have loaded several items on AquaAuctions.com, some of which do not have a reserve price, and for the ones that do, they are well less than what we have the same product listed for on our website (this has been done as a promotion to help build the Auction site).
We will still have our monthly specials and occasional daily or weekly deals, but we will be loading our best ever prices by way of Auction, so whoever wins will be assured they are geting a price that no other competitor will match or come close to.

Unlike some other attempts at an auction or classifieds system that other forums run, you dont have to be a member here or on any forum to utilise the website, and other commercial entities (non sponsors) are free to use the site as well, after all it is about getting a wide variety of products and livestock available to you, at the best possible price.
No application forms, No waiting to see if you meet there requirements to particpate, No BS
For those of you that may know a business or shop which could use some extra exposure, we have the following offer available:
To encourage businesses and high quantity sellers, AquaAuctions.com.au is offering free advertising to any business that meets the following criteria.
List a minimum of 10 auctions in a 24 hour period
or...
Maintain a minimum of 10 active listings throughout the month of March & April 2007.
In return, you will recieve...
3 Months free Banner placement on the AquaAuctions.com.au auction pages (random views).
(Normal AquaDot Network criteria applies to any commercial entity, some businesses may not be eligible to particpate in this offer.)

Since the initial boom of the relaunch, did Aquaauctions ever take off?? I recall some scepticism from other forums but it would be good if it did fly

It is very hard to understand why there would be any scepticism given that it is a free resource and there are no strings attached to using the facility.
Anyways, we are giving things another shot and will see where that leads.
