Does anyone know someone who does tank repairs is Brisbane (southside). I have a 4x18x20 that is 14months old and the aquarium shop I got it from claims it is not their problem as it is over the 12months. I can not believe they think it is OK for a silicone seal to only last 12months on a tank they built. I have had tanks 10 or more years old never loose a drop.

Either way I am concerned just patching where I think it is leaking will only lead to other leaks in the coming months or will it be OK for me to just remove the old silicone from the whole inside of the tank and run silicone around all the edges.

PS the leak is from the edge between the base and side so I need to get it sorted asap as my baby discus have been downgraded to a stryo box for the moment.

You have to be very careful with the silicone you use as most bathroom type sealants are toxic for your fish. There are specific silicones for aquarium use, but you will still need to let it cure for 24 hours before you refill the aquarium. Make sure all the surfaces are clean dry before applying the new silicone.

you need a silicon called V60 it says on the lable safe for aquarium use and retails for $7.00. I have used this in the past with good results.
