Gallery Features

When viewing images you can rate them if you wish, so if there is a photo that blows you away, why not give it a good score... there is no competition, as all the photos are winners in my mind... :D

If there is an image that you wish to ask a question about, do so in the comments section... a great way of keeping everything together and image specific...

I have some pictures of my fish saved in my computer that I would like to share. Is there anyone out there who can walk us through the Process step by step?. If someone could explain the process to us then I bet there would be a lot more Photo's posted.

To post an image in a post...

In a new post or reply, below the "Post a Reply" area you will see, "Add an Attachment"

In the Filename field, hit the Browse button.

It will open a seperate box which gives you access to your files on your computer. in the "Look in" box at the top (using Internet Explorer) search for the required image file.

Once you locate the image, click on it so the file name appears in the "File Name" field, then click the "Open" button.

If you want to add a comment, do so in the "File Comment" field, then either click "Add Attachment" if you want to add another image (maximum of 3 per post), or "Submit" to post the message and image.

if you have an image hosted at another site, you can just use the Img tags...

click the "Img" tag above prior to inserting the URL (www) of the required image, then click the "Img" tag at the end of it for an image like this...

To post in the public Photo Gallery...

1st of all, click on the PHOTO GALLERY (http://www.discusforums.com/forum/album.php) link on the top menu bar.

If you want to uplaod an image to the general gallery, click on the required Public Category (Public Categories)

Then click on the upload pic button

Click the Browse button to locate the file on your computer, click on it, then click open... (Upload a pic from your machine:)

Add a Pic Title: & Pic Description then click SUBMIT

To add an image to your own personal gallery, follow the instructions above, however, when at the main menu/index, click on the field at the bottom of the public gallery list...

then follow the instructions from the upload pic section of the previous post...

"Photoshop" is a product that is made by the company "Adobe". To use this software, you would need to purchase it.

I don't know if people would be interested in this. But there is a program that does wonder things with resizing dimensions and file size, plus a few other features. The best part is that it can apply the changes to multiple files.

Its called Multiple Image Resizer.

i am using firefox browser and i find that sometimes i can see the photo attachments sometimes cannot !!
there seem to be no such problem with internet explorer.
can someone enlighten me on this ??

some threads i can c the photos while others i cannot...however, i can c all threads with photos using IE 6.

The only thing I can think of is if the photo is linked from somewhere else and that site/utility has a compatibility issue with Firefox (I use both OS's and havent come across a problem previously, but I do mainly use IE)

Some of thoes pics are hosted on foreign servers, maybe at times they are offline, or there may be some dns conflicts going on...

It depends on the actual program you have ... Most porgrams however have a button labelled "Compress" file ...

Click on that till the file is downsized enough ........ :wink:

I have tried to upload photos to my personal album and give myself a proper introduction to this forum but the upload doesn't work: The titles and comments go up, but there is a image logo where the image should be, but no image gets loaded eventually.

I noticed that this was the case for a few others in their personal galleries, and they had just left their album and post as is.

Is there a way around this problem? Or, is there a step to the uploading I had missed?
